Grants
The Temme Foundation is a small, family foundation located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our limited resources are largely dedicated to impacting families in the South Salt Creek Neighborhood of Lincoln.
We accept applications from non-profit organizations in the area that meet our areas of interest. Please read through the information on this page to determine if the work of your organization aligns with our foundation before submitting an application. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Qualifications
The Temme Foundation funds nonprofit organizations classified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) located in Nebraska, with specific focus on Lincoln and surrounding areas. The foundation will not provide funding non-501(c)(3) organizations or individuals.
Areas of Interest
The Temme Foundation recognizes the struggles of immigrant and refugee families, the importance of early childhood education, and workforce development. Priority will be given to organizations that focus on these areas, and that provide minority and underserved populations with access to education and opportunities to lead a fulfilling life. The Foundation will accept applications for program and general operating support.
Funding Cycles
The Foundation accepts applications for funding for up to $10,000 for projects in alignment with our funding priorities. The Foundation will, on limited occasions, consider requests for larger amounts following an inquiry from prior charitable partners. Organizations should contact the foundation prior to submitting a request above $10,000. Grant applications can be submitted during the two annual funding cycles:
Spring: the foundation will accept applications anytime between January 1 and April 30. Applications will be reviewed and selected by June 30. Grant awards will be delivered shortly thereafter.
Fall: the foundation will accept applications anytime between July 1 and October 31. Applications will be reviewed and selected by December 31. Grant awards will be delivered shortly thereafter.
Organizations are highly recommended to submit only one application per calendar year, and are encouraged to apply when the program or operating need is well-defined and its timeliness can be clearly demonstrated. Nonetheless, the Temme Family Foundation wants to be responsive to community needs and as such, will consider a second application in one calendar year if the organization is responding to an unexpected crisis or community need the the potential request has been communicated in advance.
